Mary d’Eon, CFA, is the founder and principal of Pan Asset Management Ltd. Mary is responsible for all investment decisions in the funds. She has more than 20 years experience as a global portfolio manager in Canada, the US and the UK. Mary was responsible for one of the first Latin American funds in the UK and won performance awards for Old Mutual’s New Zealand fund in 1992. Investing in New Zealand in 1990 was the first experience for Mary of extreme opportunity investing. New Zealand had peaked and lost 90% of its value in the previous bear market. Most recently, Mary was a senior portfolio manager at a Toronto investment counselor responsible for international equities as well as many sectoral bets. While there, she managed several international funds including two European funds. Mary has extensive experience in investing in resources having managed a gold and resource fund in the UK from 1990 to 1995. Mary was awarded the Bronze medal for Portfolio Management in 1992 and portfolio manager of the year for 1992. Mary received her CFA designation in 1987 and has been involved in teaching CFA exam classes in Canada and the US.
